What you'll do

Reporting to the Manager of Localized Marketing, the Localized Marketing Specialist will oversee the coordination of strategic marketing initiatives, experiential events, and competitive market analysis at Sport Chek. Working closely with stakeholders in store operations, purchasing, marketing & content teams, this role will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of best-in-class marketing activations, and localized experiential events over and above our national program.

  • Lead strategic localized marketing initiatives.

  • In collaboration with Promo marketing team, facilitate local store requests for promotional and/or experiential activations.

  • Work closely with designers, content teams and channel leaders to produce breakthrough marketing assets that drives business results.

  • Understand and apply Sport Chek/Atmosphere and CTC's brand standards across all mediums and communication.

  • Build and maintain workflow calendars for ongoing localized initiatives.

  • Build out run of show event plans and briefs

  • Proof marketing assets to ensure accurate execution of programs.

  • Oversee adherence to production schedules to deliver all creative by due dates and to creative specifications.

  • Market analysis of direct competitor activity, providing strategic insights and recommendations to the business at the local level.

  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships within the sport community to strengthen localized partnerships

  • Collaborate and build relationships with operations and brand marketing teams to evaluate, create and deliver the end-to-end execution of Sport Chek Outlet concept store marketing activations.

  • Support the growth and evolution of our One Company loyalty Program (Triangle) through awareness, acquisition & retention tactics & marketing.

  • Monitor our processes and find efficiencies to optimize our deliverables.

  • Where required, may be responsible for providing support to the Associate Manager of Targeted Offers & AVP of Promo Planning & Strategy.

What you bring

  • Good knowledge of retail practices (i.e. promotional tactics, operational execution etc.)

  • Post secondary education in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or equivalent field

  • 3-5 years' experience in production, marketing, coordination or a design related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Powerpoint and Excel are considered an asset

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Able to prioritize and effectively multi-task

  • Proficient in making decisions, even with limited information available

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and act as an independent self starter is essential

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities, manages time, multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
