Position Summary:

The Lead Merchandiser is responsible for overseeing a group of Assistant Merchandisers, ensuring effective training, and planning merchandising strategies to optimize retail performance. This position bridges operational execution with strategic planning, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances efficiency, sales, and overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the team of Assistant Merchandisers.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members are well-equipped to meet merchandising standards.
  • Schedule and delegate responsibilities among team members to maximize efficiency and coverage.

Merchandising Strategy & Execution:

  • Plan and implement overall stand merchandising layouts in accordance with company standards and event-specific needs.
  • Monitor sales trends and provide recommendations for improving product placement and inventory management.

Training & Development:

  • Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training for Assistant Merchandisers to enhance their skills in merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in merchandising and operational efficiency.

Inventory & Loss Prevention:

  • Oversee inventory levels across stores and kiosks, ensuring proper restocking and rotation of products.
  • Work with the Merchandise and Warehouse Supervisors to implement loss prevention measures.

Operational Support:

  • Coordinate pre-event merchandising preparations, including product counts and kiosk setups.
  • Provide support during events to ensure merchandising goals are met and resolve any operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to streamline receiving, ticketing, and transferring of products.

Required Qualifications:

  • A secondary school diploma and 3-5 years of retail experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong merchandising experience with a proven ability to implement visual standards and strategic layouts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities and dynamic schedules.
  • Effective time-management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
