Supervisor, Logistics - Shipping/Receiving

The Supervisor, Logistics directs the integrity and flow of all merchandise into and out of the location and ensures product is available to the customer.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide in-situ task-specific coaching to employees
  • Manage workflow within team
  • In partnership with the Manager, ensure appropriate staff scheduling
  • Ensure the swift delivery of product to the selling floor, stock rooms, and Leased Partners
  • Proactively identify trends in receipts and schedule workforce needs appropriately
  • Lead the co-ordination of processing transfer requests from other stores
  • Manage and follow up between the Sales Manager and buying office on delivery of all special orders (women's, men's, accessories and Jewelry) to ensure customer promise dates are met
  • Review daily objectives and assign tasks appropriate
  • Reinforce standards for department
  • Manage supplies including hanger inventories, wrapping and packing materials
  • Direct the safe, controlled storage of customer merchandise
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
  • Participate in Hiring and training processes

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-Secondary degree, preferably in Business
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a similar capacity
  • Basic computer skills

Oversee the Shipping/Receiving Team:

Shipper and Receiver

The Shipper and Receiver handles merchandise and other goods coming in and out of the Shipping Department.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Unload merchandise from trucks using safe lifting techniques
  • Operate forklifts, handcarts, flatbeds and pump jacks with care and attention
  • Place incoming boxes in designated area in an orderly fashion
  • Check total number of boxes received against waybills, invoices, packing slips or other documents
  • Carefully inspect all boxes where seal has been broken or tampered with
  • Log discrepancies, shortages or damages and inform the direct manager
  • Determine method of shipping and prepare appropriate paperwork
  • Record contents manually or in computer systems
  • Pack goods and affix labels and shipping instructions
  • Check customer delivery sales bills for fee payment
  • Ensure accurate customs procedures are followed for all out of country shipments
  • Pack and load trucks
  • Pick up and deliver alterations to appropriate departments
  • Pick supply orders and deliver to departments as per completed requisitions
  • Collect hangers from Cash Wraps and store appropriately
  • Collect and dispose of cardboard, garbage and recyclables
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
  • Daily Rimowa replen from the offsite, as well as fulfilling Sales Team requests
  • All No Charge dated upon arrival
    • "Counter" NC deliveries delivered to each counter daily
    • NC stored a maximum of 48 hours in Shipping before taken down to the appropriate NC storage (eg. Delivered to MC storage M, W, Sa)
  • Store supplies hallways and drop off points replenished daily
    • Hallway organization maintained
    • Pulse replen prior to key business days such as Fri-Sundays, STATs, Holidays due to increased consumption
    • Alerting Taylor and Angela BEFORE supplies run out
  • Keep the Receivers whiteboard updated with incoming deliveries, PKs scheduled, Escalator duties and other daily tasks
  • Ensure EOD tasks are taken care of daily
    • Skids pulled away from selling stock to enable SA access
    • Empty skids disposed of
    • Carts lined up and tidy
    • Swept and accessible space etc
