POSITION SUMMARY
The Reliability Manager is a member of the Plant Management Team and has full accountability for maintenance activities. This position supervises a local team of mechanics, line technicians and cleaning room operators across three shift operations.
Key activities for this position include leading maintenance and reliability processes that will focus on reaching operational excellence, developing and implementing strategies to increase the skill level across our maintenance team, and enhancing our maintenance capabilities to deliver improved equipment reliability decreasing our repair and maintenance costs.
The Reliability Manager position is also responsible for driving the Canadian Supply Chain strategies and continuous improvement objectives, working tightly in collaboration with the Project Engineer Team and key technical personnel in the development of progressive training and assessment programs and directly impacting on sustainable safety, quality, profitability, efficiency, OEE, cost management, customer satisfaction, innovation and LEAN methodologies.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Maintenance Reliability/Predictive Maintenance (75%)
- Assists with direction setting and supporting maintenance reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Drives root cause failure analysis.
- Partners with a group of maintenance employees to develop, implement and monitor the PM's. (implementing a computerized system)
- Identifies and prioritizes the predictive maintenance programs that are most applicable to the wet operations.
- Addresses technical related issue brought forward by production. (Developing, implementing and maintaining a Work Order Process)
Manufacturing Execution
- Orchestrates daily maintenance support of manufacturing at the facility.
- Manages all Maintenance functions as they relate to manufacturing to achieve plant's operating plan.
- Ensures annual plant shutdowns facilitate regulatory inspections and on-time repairs that can only be accomplished during the shutdown periods.
Department Budgeting
- Monitors department expense budgets for the Maintenance Department.
- Manages use of labor and materials to optimize department effectiveness.
Strategic Planning in collaboration with the Project Engineer Team
- Develops, recommends, and reviews long term strategies for expense and capital Initiatives relating to the Maintenance Department and successful operation of the plant.
- Key to the development of the strategic capital plan for the facility.
Team Management
- Develops a competent and efficient Maintenance Department workforce.
- Assures team members have the experience, tools, supplies, and materials required for performing maintenance services.
2. Continuous Process Improvement (20%)
- Establish and execution of departmental objectives in support of all identified site and Corporate Goals and objectives.
- Manages CI efforts within the plant to eliminate recurring manufacturing issues and meet production and efficiency goals.
- Identifies and implements small capital improvements.
3. Health and Safety (at all times)
- Drive site initiatives in support of reduced TIR results.
- Participate in development of site EAS objectives.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all requirements put forth by Estee Lauder corporate, governmental agencies and regulatory bodies.
4. Special Projects (5%)
- As assigned by Manager
The salary range for this position is $89,900 to $134,900, based on the candidate's experience.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related discipline;
Licensed P. Eng accreditation
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in plant engineering and/or
maintenance; financial budget experience a must; demonstrated experience with
TPM tools and plant reliability initiatives; experience with predictive maintenance
strongly desired
