About the role

Job Description:

As a Senior Technical Enablement Practitionerin our Revenue Organization, you will develop technical assets and learning materials for our internal teams involved in pre-sales and post-sales support.

Your primary audience includes:

  • Solutions Engineers, who assist sales teams with technical expertise and solution design

  • Launch Consultants, who guide new customers in setting up their retail and online stores with Shopify

  • Professional Services, who offer advanced customization, system integration, and strategic business growth advice.

This role demands a strong empathy and understanding of these technical roles. In addition it requires the ability to produce effective enablement content author technical assets and facilitate training, emphasizing the practical value of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training materials for internal teams, focusing on technical features, platform tools, and value-based positioning

  • Gather requirements/needs from technical sales teams to prioritize topics to collaborate on with subject matter experts.

  • Conduct comprehensive research to gather technical content and create clear, concise, and interactive learning opportunities.

  • Choose appropriate information architecture, format, voice, and style to foster effective learning.

  • Become a subject matter expert on Shopify products and their enabling technology through ongoing exploration and learning.

  • Build strong relationships with cross functional teams and stakeholders; RnD and technical sales.

  • Identify areas of opportunity and continuously improve technical content, ensuring it meets the needs of technical crafts globally.

  • Organize and facilitate in person, virtual training and open forum product Q&A sessions.

  • Utilize data-informed metrics and insights to measure the impact of training initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

  • Self-driven, requires minimal direction, and loves to work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in and/or supporting Technical roles, focused on assessing, defining, developing and delivering enablement content.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate product features, specifications, and technical complexities into accessible learning content.

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise on commerce applications and their enabling technology.

  • High standards, an obsessive eye for detail, and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Demonstrated experience in building/maintaining strong stakeholder alignment & relationships

  • Ruthless prioritization and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality content in dynamic, fast-paced environments with rapidly changing products.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.

  • Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Articulate Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate or comparable tools.

  • Experience with e-commerce, SaaS, and cloud-based technologies is highly desirable.

  • Additional formal knowledge/education in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • Field experience in a technical sales role is preferred.

  • Machine learning and AI experience in automated content generation is preferred.
