We are currently looking for a Gatehouse associate to work in a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires working outside and being extremely knowledgeable about building materials to ensure that each customer's order is correct. Due to the Loss Prevention aspect of the position you need to ensure all products are accounted for and paid for before leaving the premises, so you need to be efficient, tactful, and thorough to excel at this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collect payments
  • Operate registers, scanners, and credit card/debit card terminals
  • Check customer loads for accuracy
  • Clear all loads coming in and leaving the yard
  • Report any violations, theft, accidents, or injuries to the store manager
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to lift light to heavy merchandise

Qualifications

  • Lumber knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work as needed
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and a fast-paced environment
  • Great verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Background in security and inventory control is an asset
