What you'll do

The Supply Chain Automation and Asset Management team works on strategic initiatives across all banners within the Canadian Tire Supply Chain, providing our stakeholders with innovative solutions. We are looking for an Associate Project Manager to support PMO activities with a focus on annual capital planning, capital budgeting, forecasting, resource tracking and portfolio reporting across all Supply Chain Portfolio's.

  • Support the development of annual capital plans and budgets across all SC portfolio's

  • Lead specific elements of budgeting and forecast management for large capital initiatives

  • Generate monthly financial reporting for the portfolio of supply chain projects that will be presented to Senior Management

  • Consult with project managers and key business stakeholders to reconcile actual cost vs plan

  • Create a portfolio health check reporting package to summarize scope, schedule, budget, and resources for all in-flight and un-started projects

  • Support the maintenance of a 5 year Supply Chain Projects Roadmap and development of governance processes (including the development of an intake and prioritization process)

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain and IT to manage changes to resource plans across multiple projects

  • Provide coaching and guidance to the Supply Chain Business teams on budgeting, forecasting and time keeping activities

  • Partner with Supply Chain and the Enterprise PMO to identify and implement improvements to the enterprise capital management and governance processes

What you bring

  • University degree (in Accounting/ Finance is an asset)

  • 4-5 years' experience with annual capital planning, budgeting & forecasting for large capital initiatives

  • 3 years' experience with portfolio resource capacity planning, demand management and reporting

  • Financial acumen as it relates to project/program/portfolio budgeting and forecasting

  • Experience developing portfolio reporting in a PMO environment

  • Experience supporting the establishment of a PMO

  • Advanced competencies in collaboration, communication, team building, stakeholder engagement and analytics are required to perform this role.

  • Results oriented with strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Data analysis skills with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data into effective reports and dashboards that will allow project leads and senior leaders to make informed decisions

  • Expert working knowledge of Excel and advanced skills in other Microsoft office applications such as Power BI

  • System savvy: experience in payroll, timekeeping (i.e., Planview) systems and People Soft are considered an asset
