Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Responsible for set-up/inspection/operation of all Tech Shop Machinery and tools. Notifying supervisor of any tools/materials required
  • Maintain Tech Shop inventory
  • Perform ski, snowboard and boot tunes and repairs
  • Ensure proper operation of all equipment and maintain a clean work area
  • Greet visitors and respond to inquiries, concerns, etc.
  • Ensure that skis and snowboards pass visual inspection and that all issued equipment meets proper safety protocols
  • Assist visitors with sizing and fitting of appropriate ski/snowboard equipment while maximizing comfort and safety
  • Explain proper use of ski and snowboard rental equipment as well as general safety practices
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed according to Rental/Tech Department protocols
  • Prepare and receive returned rental equipment
  • Follow proper reservation check-in/out procedures
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Completion of binding certifications and/or experience with ski/snowboard repair required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot various types of solutions in regard to customers equipment
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience in using hand-held tools is an asset
  • Experience in point-of-sale procedures is an asset
  • Knowledge of conservation areas and recreational programming is an asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, nights and holidays), depending on factors visitation levels
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Successful candidates must complete and/or provide a copy of the following Ski Binding Certificates (Head, Atomic, Marker, Solomon, Dynastar, Elan, Rossignol, etc) prior to first day of employment or complete training provided by Conservation Halton
