SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for analysis of forecasted and actual sales and margins, and their impact on the Company's business, as well as ensuring that ads and ad information is accurate. This position also provides support and ensures accurate reporting and billing of vendor revenues.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analysis and commentary of weekly sales and margin results, including forecasted vs. actual sales.
- Manage department forecasting template and work with Grocery leadership team on effective modelling of all programs.
- Analysis and commentary of company prices vs. the competition.
- Analysis and commentary of market basket items as well managing our relationship with our 3rd party partner MCA.
- Assistance in forecasting of sales and margins.
- Ensure that ads and department forecast accurately reflect decisions made.
- Responsible for ensuring that system issues are dealt with along with recommendations for improvement.
- Maintains regular daily, weekly and periodic reports including providing adhoc reports as necessary in support of the Grocery Merhandising team.
- Analysis and commentary of the weekly Promotional changes (Tag/Beard counts)
- Ensures that the necessary information is sent to the accounting/finance team as required in accordance with proper accounting principles.
- Communicates with Procurement and Finance as required to ensure completeness and accuracy of Ontario reporting
- Makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures.
QUALFICATIONS:
- College diploma or University studies (certificate) in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate Microsoft Office & SAP
- Ability to adapt to unexpected circumstances and peak periods.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to perform tasks independently and work within a team
- Must be well organized and have strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage work expectations with minimal supervision
