Store Loss Prevention Security - London

Securiguard is seeking experienced individuals to join our Loss Prevention (Undercover) Unit. Join us in this elite role where your vigilance and dedication contribute to the overall safety and success of our retail partner.

The Day to Day:

Each shift you will make a difference by maintaining the safety and security of the retail environment by conducting surveillance and deterring theft and criminal activity. Working discreetly among customers, you will remain vigilant for any signs of suspicious behavior or unauthorized activity. Your role involves detecting and apprehending individuals involved in theft or other criminal acts, adhering to legal and procedural guidelines when processing them through the local police service. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with your security team to ensure effective coverage and response to security concerns. Regularly monitoring CCTV systems and conducting thorough inspections of the premises are also key responsibilities to help identify and prevent security breaches.

Overall, your commitment to maintaining a safe and secure retail environment is paramount in protecting assets and ensuring the well-being of customers and employees alike.

What you bring:

• Valid Security Guard License & Valid First Aid & CPR
• Must have Use of Force Training
• Minimum 2 years of security work experience in a retail setting, working in plain clothes with the primary focus on identifying and apprehending shoplifters or must have 2 years of tactical security experience in a high-profile customer-focused environment such as retail/mall, government, or healthcare/respite shelters.
• Loss Prevention Knowledge is an asset.
• Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and Trespass to Property Act.
• Driver's License and ability to travel to various retail sites.
• Ability to work at different sites across the London radius
• Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to write professional security reports with a strong command of the English language.
• Familiarity with the use of CCTV systems.
• Strong communication skills and situational awareness
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Punctuality & Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.
• Strong ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests within appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Education background in law enforcement, such as Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation is an asset.

Position Perks:

Pay Rate: $23 - $26 (w/ pay progression based upon performance).

Training:

Completion of Use of Force Training, Lawful Subject Restraint, Fit for Duty, and Crisis Management training are requirements for this role., and also require annual re-certification. The training is provided to new employees for this role along with Securiguard University orientation courses for skill development.
