Position Summary...

The Manager, SEO leads the technical SEO activities for Walmart Canada, directly contributing to traffic and customer acquisition goals for Walmart.ca, Walmart Mobile App, and associated properties. Possessing a deep understanding of methods to grow SEO traffic within a large retail organization, this person uses data and SEO insights to define project requirements and execute on tech roadmaps that drive traffic, customer acquisition and conversion through organic channels.

What you'll do...

1. Leading and mentoring a team of tech SEO specialists, ensuring the efficient and timely execution of Walmart.ca's tech SEO roadmap.

2. Regularly evaluating and monitoring Walmart.ca's SEO traffic and technical health, identifying gaps and opportunities, and partnering with international engineering and product teams to devise and execute effective growth plans, recovery plans and mitigation strategies for systemic SEO issues.

3. Conducting comprehensive website audits, optimizing website structure and architecture, launching tech initiatives and implementing measures to enhance search engine crawlability, indexation, link equity, rankings and organic traffic.

4. Monitoring site performance metrics such as page load speeds and core web vitals, managing XML sitemaps and robots.txt files, and using structured data and schema markup to enhance user experience and search engine comprehension of content.

5. Staying abreast of the latest Google algorithm updates, trends and guidelines, and ensuring Walmart.ca's alignment with these trends to maximize SEO efficiency.

6. Collaborating with content teams to optimize on-page elements, overseeing website migrations or redesigns to minimize search ranking impact, and providing regular SEO performance reports to stakeholders.

7. Preparing detailed documentations and periodic performance reports to share findings and solutions with key stakeholders.

8. Managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and onboarding processes for SEO tools, while maintaining cost-efficient budget and workflow management.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical SEO role (preferably at a large online retailer.)
  • Deep knowledge of site crawlability, renderability and indexability.
  • Experience with optimizing core web vitals and improving page speed scores.
  • Proficiency in SEO automation, crawl budget optimization and log file analysis.
  • Ability to ensure the function and integrity of metadata, internal linking, Hreflang tags, canonicals, redirects, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, schema markup, etc.
  • Deep experience with Botify, Screaming Frog, Oncrawl, BrightEdge, Semrush, Ahrefs, JIRA.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Excellent project management skills
