Responsible for the overall management and operation of the campus store, ensuring exceptional service to the University community, managing inventory at optimum level, managing staff and generating revenue. Job is also responsible to collaborate with all the stakeholders inside the campus and the external vendors to meet the diverse needs of the students, faculty, staff and the University community
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of operational management and leadership concepts practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
• Knowledge of campus store program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
• Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory systems
• Knowledge of accounting and financial management for sales organization
• Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
• Knowledge of inventory management and sales software, office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, enterprise software, and technology devices
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to use sound judgement
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
• Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Completion of undergraduate degree in related field
• Minimum of four years of previous store experience in a higher education sector including two years of management and leadership experience
