Reports to: Supervisor, Financial Services
Grade: Q0:52
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $25.14 - $25.87 per hour hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Shifts: Days - Mon-Fri 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Position Summary

UHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. The CASHIER maintains responsibility for securely handling large sums of money in various forms.

Duties

  • Receives payments coming in form multiple sources (e.g., patients, department, etc.).
  • Remits cheques received from accounts payable and payments from petty cash.
  • Enters payments coming in form multiple sources (e.g. patients, department, etc.).
  • Performs cash counting responsibilities, ensuring cash is secured in appropriate location.
  • Responds to request for information coming in via the telephone and/or in person.
  • Performs other activities to facilitate the effective and efficient functioning of the department.
  • Performs cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required.
  • Performs other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required, including: calling patient to verify address, etc.

Qualifications

  • At minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent required.
  • Must be bondable.
  • 3 months to less than 6 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Previous experience postings payment batches and reviewing AR accounts in the systems Epic and HRCM is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience posting handling large volume cash transactions is highly preferred.
