The Manager, Health & Safety defines the luxury lifestyle shopping experience through building lasting relationships with our people, customers and partners and is responsible for Holt Renfrew's Health and Safety programs, systems and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote workplace health and safety and mitigate potential risk to the business.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • In conjunction on with the Director, Loss Prevention, ensures delivery of Health and Safety programs and systems to optimize H& S performance in the achievement of business objectives

  • Has ownership and responsibility of Health and Safety tools, systems, policies, procedures, training and communication. Liaison with various vendors, IT, facilities, and other stakeholders and internal partners to ensure ongoing maintenance and compliance of all

  • Maintains understanding and knowledge of current federal, provincial, and/or company regulations and policies. Identifies regulatory changes and updates and implements as appropriate

  • Performs complex analysis of health and safety compliance data, information, and statistics

  • Identifies evolving trends and potential issues and makes recommendations for improvement and changes

  • Provide Corporate oversight of Occupational injury ability Management vendors to manage the assessment, treatment and care injured employees

  • Standardize Joint Health and Safety Committees processes across sites

  • Remain current and participate in various rebate programs and ensure all criteria are met to achieve maximum rebate available

  • Tracks and reports regularly on Health and Safety performance and provides reporting to all stakeholders

  • Provides leadership and maintains relationships with Health and Safety Committees across the organization. Performs location audits as required

  • Working with internal partners, and committees, develops and conducts training programs to meet compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Functions as emergency response coordinator and develop/drive emergency response/business continuity initiatives

  • Ensures compliance with all Provincial regulatory requirements

  • Complies with all Health & Safety policies and requirements

  • Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing employees that is capable of delivering results

  • Conduct an annual review of Health and Safety Programs

  • Drive best practice, continuous improvement, and standardization across all sites related to Health & Safety

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field

  • 5-7 years of work experience, including 3+ years supervisory of management experience

  • Hybrid work model, ability to work minimum of 3-days per week, on-site

  • Required travel to national locations

  • CRSP certification is an asset

  • Strong knowledge and experience in occupational health and safety, including food services

  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required

  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change

  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills

  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
