The Manager, Strategic Sourcing (Indirect) will be responsible for delivering strong results that support the company's strategies and will provide significant value to the business units. This position will work cross-functionally with other individuals across Holt Renfrew to drive close collaboration, manage vendor relationships and their performance, and pursue value-creation opportunities. In executing these responsibilities, the Indirect Sourcing Manager will help Holt Renfrew develop and meet strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, quality of service and risk management. .

Strategic Sourcing

  • Partner with stakeholders to source products and services using proven tools, processes, and analytics to drive and achieve business results in the following capabilities
  • Partner with internal business clients to develop and influence sourcing strategy using the best tools and methodology by project.
  • Oversee the sourcing events with 3rd party partners ensuring a transparent and objective process.
  • Evaluate analyses of sourcing results from a total cost of ownership perspective, and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional team to negotiate value based agreements with vendor partners.
  • Optimize processes and contracting strategies.
  • Contract Management (ability to create and manage contracts, partner with legal and internal business teams, reduce exposure to risk factors).
  • Own vendor negotiations during sourcing events to help the organization meet savings targets and other KPI's
  • Experience leading procurement/sourcing decisions and owning/facilitating strategic sourcing process (e.g., defining service-level agreements/scope of work, launching RFPs, negotiating with vendors)
  • Educate lines of business around strategic sourcing process and initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate sourcing strategies are in place for effective and timely execution of initiatives
  • Establish Sourcing strategies for an assigned portfolio in conjunction with the business
  • Evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with the business

The Ideal Candidate

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years of post-university work experience in category-specific procurement to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting, preferably in a retail environment
  • Knowledge of the drivers of operational performance and costs, including SLAs, performance management practices, and the value of risk within contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful team relationships to drive results
  • Leadership presence and proven ability to influence Executives and VPs
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
  • Proficiency in analytical methods and deriving insights from data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated top performance in prior role(s) with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience in program development, competitive bid process, vendor selection and vendor risk assessment
  • Hands-on experience in leading strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Hands-on experience in managing projects, contracts and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.

  • Demonstrating strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) software
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
