Manager, Visual Merchandising (Mat leave Contract role)

The Manager, Visual Merchandising leads a team of visual merchandising professionals in reinforcing the brand of the company, through excellence in all areas of visual merchandising and product standards execution throughout the store environment, inclusive of both the interior and exterior.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

· Cultivate a holistic environment of pure visual merchandising excellence in execution in all areas of product merchandising, placement, window/interior/in-department mannequins, signage, events and alternatively directed activities by Store Management or SSC

· Work in partnership with Store Management, SSC and visual merchandising teams to execute both store based and corporate visual merchandising activities

o Develop and implement seasonal critical paths to support directives

o Provide reporting with visual recaps on execution for visual merchandising directives and in store initiatives

o Provide training and on-going coaching for store teams on visual merchandising guidelines

· Direct the creation of leading-edge presentations within windows, interior focals, department mannequins and merchandise integration; while remaining aligned to corporate direction on creative concepts and styling

· Deliver all visual and merchandising presentation set-ups on time and within budget

o Source materials and alternate items as appropriate for visual props to support creative directives

· Ensure established visual merchandising presentation standards are maintained throughout the store, windows/interiors

· Maximize impact of all aspects of sensory input in the creation of a world-class environment

· Partner with SSC visual merchandising and Store Management teams to drive sales through merchandising strategies in store

o Maximize the impact of new receipts

o Manage rotation of aged stock and well-presented sale presentation

o Maintain appearance of newness in product presentation

· Manage, and report on store visual merchandising budget

· Communicate appropriate parameters, standards and prescribed limits for direct reports; helping them to understand how they support to drive sales

· Lead, motivate and retain a team of high performing visual merchandising professionals

· Conduct regular walkthroughs with Store Management to identify areas of opportunity and ensure alignment on standards

· Partner with Store Management to ensure daily opening/closing checklists are executed and maintained

· Continuously recruit, select, hire and on-board the best talent

· Set visual merchandising performance goals with management and employees

· Recognize and reward extraordinary performance; give behavioral feedback and develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees

· Comply with all Health & Safety policies, and merchandise protection policies and requirements

· Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.

The ideal candidate:

· Minimum 5 yrs of experience in a management position

· Post-Secondary education an asset

· Fine Arts Training and /or Related Design School Diploma

· Formal or equivalent Visual Merchandising Presentation Training

· Minimum 5 years of Visual Merchandising Presentation in Retail

· Perfectly bilingual in French and in English
