Site: Toronto General Hospital Gift & Health Shop, Princess Margaret Wig Salon
Department: Outpatient Pharmacy
Reports to: Manager
Work Model: On-Site
Grade: P0:02
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $19.63 to $24.54 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Full-Time, 12 Months
Closing Date: October 11, 2024

Duties

  • Main responsibilities include driving compression garment sales, ordering, receiving, and managing inventory
  • Specific responsibilities include measuring and fitting customers for compression garments, recommending appropriate garment designs or materials, and organizing compression fitting events to attract customer interest, in addition to ordering, receiving, and processing sales
  • The individual is required to contact and visit various nursing units and departments within the UHN group of hospitals to conduct the compression fittings, coordinate the delivery of garments, triage and troubleshoot customer service issues, communicate with customers and UHN employees
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, and pricing general merchandise for the TG Gift and Health Shop, Princess Margaret Wig Salon and Accessories Boutique, and other pharmacy retail stores as required
  • Performs merchandising and cashier functions
  • Organizing revenue-generating promotions to attract customer interest
  • Coordinating the return of stale-dated merchandises and other products; communicating with other store personnel
  • Performing technical functions in support of the business including customer tracking and revenue reporting using Excel
  • Performing cross-functional duties, within scope of authority
  • Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
  • Requires lifting items, merchandising/stocking cases of inventory
  • Requires standing 80% of the shift
  • May require floating to other pharmacy retail stores

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
  • One (1) year related merchandising experience preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Six months technical experience in a retail environment; preferred
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills
  • Very good interpersonal skills
  • Very good organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) requirements
  • Compliance with established confidentiality requirements
  • Satisfactory attendance
