\nExecute investigative plan using techniques and resources designed to gather and validate relevant facts concerning the investigation goals. Stay in frequent contact with the client to report on status and determine if investigation should continue or be adjusted based on findings.
\n
\nInteract with subject of investigation and/or any individuals who might have information relevant to the investigation. Possibilities include contacting medical care providers, mental health providers, employers, pharmacies, accountants, insurance agents, legal counsel, employers, neighbors, civil and criminal courts, law enforcement, regulatory agencies, licensing authorities, city, municipal and provincial governments, professional organizations, other insurance carriers, etc.
\n
\nUtilize research resources and the SIU Research Analyst to gather data supporting the investigation.
\n
\nClearly document findings and discuss results with clients. Ensure decision makers accurately interpret the investigative results. Proactively consult concerning additional investigative activity that may address gaps identified by the decision maker(s).
\n
\nDevelop and present anti-fraud training to associates as required and as prudent to manage enterprise risk.
\n
\nCoordinate privately contracted investigative support. This could include consultants with specialized skills such as forensic document examiners, international investigation vendors, etc.

\nRelevant education and experience, including a degree in business administration, criminal justice, or a related field, plus a minimum of 10 years of experience investigating fraud associated with claims, underwriting, agents/brokers, account takeovers, financial services, or financial services and/or professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies.
\n
\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills necessary to develop, execute and adapt an ongoing investigation plan; to distinguish between symptoms and root causes; and to distinguish between facts/truth and opinion/hearsay.
\n
\nAbility to utilize information resources (i.e. confidential sources, computer databases, public records, etc.) and apply investigation skills (i.e. interviewing, lead generation, information evaluation and verification, recognition of fraud indicators, etc.) to develop sources and gather relevant information in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
\n
\nCommunication skills necessary to quickly establish rapport and solicit confidential information from sources often unwilling to disclose such information, usually in an unfamiliar environment. Ability to communicate technical insurance, medical and financial information with professionals in these fields and with lay people.
\n
\nSpecific knowledge of all laws affecting our organizations' lawful ability to investigate - for example, laws relating to stalking, privacy, confidentiality, whistle-blowing, deceptive practices, use of information protected by PIPEDA, etc. Incumbent

\nMust be knowledgeable regarding laws that create public documents and that permit the gathering of certain information (for example, court records).
