What you'll do

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Manager to join our Data Platforms team. As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing our cloud data and data governance platforms, practices and helping to support activities such as data quality assessment, data cataloging, data lineage, data stewardship, data security, and data ethics ensuring their efficiency, scalability, and adherence to industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and drive the successful delivery of high-quality data management solutions.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead the platform capabilities development for our cloud based data and data governance platform (Azure, IBM Cloud Pak for Data).

  • Define and refine the platform technical roadmap based Product Owner capabilities roadmap, stakeholder feedback, and platform evolution.

  • Lead / collaborate with engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable user stories and technical specifications.

  • Prioritize feature development based on strategic objectives, customer needs, technical feasibility, and business value.

  • Drive the Agile development process by conducting sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive user experiences that meet customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics to enhance platform functionality.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify potential areas of improvement.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of platform features and drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new features or enhancements within the existing ecosystem.

  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including sales, marketing, operations, and executive leadership.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in technical product management roles with a focus on cloud-based data management platforms.

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies (e.g., Azure, IBM CP4D) and their associated services (e.g., S3, Redshift).

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality management principles, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR).

  • Experience in Databricks, MS Power Platform and Python is an asset.

  • Proficiency in agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework) and tools such as JIRA or Trello.

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
