JOB PURPOSE:
The Pricer/Cashier/sorter is to receive and sort donations, as well as ring in customer purchases. This position includes continuous standing, bending and lifting.. This is a busy position, the incumbent will be required to work efficiently and manage their time well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive gifts and clothing from various agencies and public.
- Pricing items for sales floor
- Cashier
- Sort clothing, furniture, Misc items and other various responsibilities.
- Continuous standing, bending, and lifting.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds (with assistance)
- Other job related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The applicant must be able to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive, professional, and helpful attitude.
- They must have ability to work independently and have the capability to systematically organize.
- The incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and a clear driving record are required.
- The ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army.
- Written and oral English proficiency is needed in this role to interact with customers and community partners both in person and on the telephone.
- Cash experience is an asset
- Required to work every second Saturday
NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
Working Conditions: Full Time 40 hours per week - RRSP, Medical and Dental benefits after 3 months
Must be available to work weekends (every 2nd Saturday) and 1-2 evenings a week from 10:30am-7:00pm
