About the role

We are looking for an Account Sales Manager to join our TEAm. Reporting to the Head of Wholesale, the Account Sales Manager will be involved in with a network of clients to grow the DAVIDsTEA brand.  This role will focus on business with grocery chains, restaurants and major retailers across North America as well as expanding our corporate gifting program. The Account Manager will have a natural flare for selling, proven track record of driving sales, increasing brand awareness and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage assigned accounts by building long-term partnerships, including client contract renewals and find opportunities for growth on existing accounts
  • Collaborate on the development of plans and strategies to meet DAVIDsTEA’s targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, investment, marketplace dynamics, consumer habits, and company strategies
  • Manage the execution of sales and investment strategies to meet volume and profit goals aligning with set quotas.
  • Complete all annual and monthly forecasting and trade investment reviews and an ability to articulate sales drivers
  • Leverage customer sell-through data to support a fact-based selling approach; focus on understanding key volume drivers and their ROIs to provide recommendations for sales growth
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure success in product inventory, selection and fulfillment
  • Maintain a strong understanding of products to better upsell existing accounts
  • Lead and expand the corporate gifting program
  • Independently manage a variety of projects relating to the wholesale department, as well as the financials criteria related to decision-making
  • Keeping accurate records pertaining to inventory and account notes
  • Develop and execute post-mortems to assess department performance

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing grocery accounts with major chains or relevant accounts
  • Retail or food and beverage experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree for college certificate in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of financial and financial metrics preferred
  • Experience with CRM software, strong excel skills and ability to analyze and manipulate data
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas and receiving positive customer feedback
  • Skilled, versatile problem-solver, organized multitasker and excellent project manager
  • Forward-thinker, going above and beyond to increase the customer satisfaction level
  • Fast-learner, capable of taking on an increasing scope of responsibilities
  • Easy-going, positive, and friendly team-player and good communicator who can work cross-functionally
