The Thrift Store Associate provides service to customers, sorts incoming products, and assists in the maintenance of store operations.
This is a regular part time position at 20 - 30 hours per week with benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take responsibility for the accurate completion of all customer transactions including visa, debit, etc.
- Receive all donations in a designated area
- Handle, sort, dispose of recycle and waste material.
- Sort all donated items making sure the good quality items are kept for redistribution
- Treat each customer fairly, in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Keep high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the sorting and receiving area
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School/Grade 12.
Experience:
- Up to three months of prior related experience, including life skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- The performance of the job requires continuously standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing and pulling, lifting, kneeling and entering data for transactions.
Preferred Skills/Capabilities:
- Past retail experience preferred
