Job Summary and Requirements

This posting will be used to fill one part-time term position, working 30 hours bi-weekly. The term runs until October 2026. Temporary Assignments may also be considered.

A term position is a position greater than 6 months which has a specified end date.

This job is located in the town of Mayo, in the beautiful Yukon.

Relocation to Mayo will not be provided for this position.

The opportunity…

The Liquor Store Clerk is responsible for serving the public in retail sales of liquor with excellent customer service. Liquor Store Clerks help team receive and handle stock, have product knowledge, merchandising skills and are able to operate a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system. They also provide surveillance skills for underage, intoxicated persons, and shoplifters, and assisting in janitorial duties.

  • Considerable experience working in a high-volume retail environment or licensed establishment providing customer service
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, validating and/or stocking incoming inventory
  • Experience balancing register cash, receipts, and float at the end of the shift
  • Experience using a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

Job requirements: Wearing safety footwear, wearing a uniform provided by Yukon Liquor Corporation. Being able to stand or walk for longer periods of time, being able to repetitively lift heavy items (up to 40lbs)
